PEANUT BUTTER BREAD
ingredients:
- 2/3 cup warm milk (110 - 115f )
- 3 tsp active dry yeast
- 3 cups bread flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 4 tbsp butter (softened / room temperature)
- 2 eggs (room temperature)
- jar of creamy peanut butter
- egg wash
directions:
- combine the milk and yeast in a bowl. stir
- add the flour, sugar, salt, butter, and eggs. mix well until it forms a dough
- move the dough into a clean surface area and start kneading. continue for about 5 minutes (if you have a stand mixer, use it to make the process faster)
- form the dough into a ball and place in a bowl, cover and let the dough rise for 1 to 1.5 hours or until it is about double its original size
- once the dough is ready, flatten it until it is about one inch thick
- spread the peanut butter over the flattened dough
- fold the dough halfway, and then fold the other half over
- divide the dough into 12 pieces
- take a piece of the divided dough and cut it twice lengthwise leaving half an inch at the end part, then start making a braid (please refer to the video)
- place the bread into the baking pan and cover. let the dough rise for another 30 minutes
- preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- after 30 minutes, brush the dough with egg wash
- bake the bread at 350 degrees for 20 minutes
- brush the top with butter
