pineapple buns

here i'm going to show you how to make a pineapple buns! this is NOT the same as the bolo bao! we will use a pineapple jam as the filling. so if you want to learn, please keep reading! :)
ingredients:
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 1/2 teaspoon instant dry yeast
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
directions:
- combine flour, sugar and salt into a bowl
- add the instant dry yeast. mix
- then add the hot water, eggs and vegetable oil. combine
- then start kneading your dough. you can use a stand mixer if you prefer
- let the dough rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size
- after the dough has risen. divide the dough into equal pieces.
- flatten the dough using a rolling pin
- scoop a tablespoon of pineapple jam into the middle of the flattened dough
- then seal tightly (do the same to the remaining dough)
- line a parchment paper into a baking dish
- move the bread into the baking dish
- brush the top of the bread with egg wash
- and bake the bread to 350F for 10 to 20 minutes
- and enjoy!
p.s you can sprinkle the top with powdered sugar! it wont make any difference but it looks pretty! :P
