this maple bacon bread is one of the best! cannot get over of this recipe! try it now!
ingredients:
- 2 1/2 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar (for yeast mixture)
- 1 1/4 cup lukewarm milk (about 110f-115f) too hot may cause the yeast to die. bread wont rise!
- 4 cups bread flour (you can use all purpose flour too)
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg (must be at room temperature)
- 4 tablespoon butter ( must be at room temperature) plus more for the filling
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (for the filling)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder (for the filling)
- chopped bacon (for the filling ) plus more for toppings
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
directions:
- warm the milk into the microwave, make sure it is in the right temperature. it should be between 110f to 115f to help the yeast rise
- add the yeast and sugar into the warm milk. stir and set aside until the yeast bloomed. about 8 to 10 minutes
- into a different mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients, (the flour, salt, sugar,) and set aside
- once the yeast is ready, pour the yeast mixture into the dry ingredients, then add the egg and start kneading using the stand mixer. the dough can be knead by hand, but i highly recommend using the stand mixer for easy kneading
- after about 3 minutes of kneading, add the softened butter and continue kneading until the dough is soft. about 8 to 10 minutes
- cover the dough with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for 1.5 to 2 hours or until the dough has doubled in size
- at this point, combine the cinnamon powder and brown sugar together to prepare the filling
- once the dough doubled in size, place the dough into a clean surface area
- shape the dough into a ball and cut into half
- flatten the dough using the rolling pin and try to make the shape into rectangular as possible (doesn't need to be in perfect shape)
- spread the remaining softened butter and then pour the cinnamon brown sugar mixture on top of the flattened dough
- sprinkle the bacon bits on top
- divide the dough into 4
- roll each dough while stretching the rolled dough lengthwise to make the dough longer
- cut the dough into half leaving a half inch on the end part to hold the bread together
- twist the bread together and roll up! do the same to the remaining dough
- place the bread into a baking pan lined with parchment paper
- cover and let the dough rise for another 25 to 30 minutes
- pre heat the oven to 350F
- bake the bread for 17 to 20 minutes or until the bread is golden brown
- combine the maple syrup and powdered sugar
- glaze the bread with the maple syrup mixture and top with more bacon
- enjoy while it's warm
i hope you all are having a great new year so far!
