filipino pork belly adobo

hi guys!

in this episode, i am going to show you how i cook my own version of adobo. there are several ways to cook adobo, but i love mine because it is classic, easy, and fast to make. if you want to see how i made it, please go check my youtube channel. leave a comment as well and let me know how you guys like to cook your adobo. :)

ingredients:

directions:

  1. combine soy sauce, vinegar, pepper corns, bay leaves and pork belly and let it marinade for 30 minutes to an hour. i like to use pork belly by the way, but this recipe you can absolutely use any type of meat you like.
  2. after 30 minutes to an hour, the meat should be ready to cook. put some oil in a pot and sauté the onion and garlic ( i like to throw in the onion first since it cooks longer than the garlic).
  3. once ready, throw in the pork belly (minus the sauce). JUST the pork belly. :)
  4. mix all together and let it simmer until the meat is tender (according to your preference of tenderness) :P
  5. then, add the marinated sauce into the pot and stir.
  6. cover and let it cook until the sauce is thickened. (stirring occasionally)
  7. add salt and pepper according to your taste.
  8. and DONE! :D

i hope you enjoyed this recipe. it is so simple and very filipino. until next time!

XO,
Sai Borg

p.s pair it with white rice! YUM

southwest steak salad

here is my southwest salad!

hey guys! what are you having for lunch today?

i worked out so hard yesterday that i didn't want to ruin it all by eating junk today, so i decided to make a southwest steak salad. super easy to make. down below is the list of ingredients:

  • bagged of lettuce (i used hearts of romaine)
  • cherry tomatoes (cut in half)
  • tortillas chips
  • carrots
  • beef steak (left over)
  • onions
  • chopped cabbage
  • ranch dressing (store bought)
  • chili powder
  • salsa
  • cumin

mix them all together. depending on how many people are eating, i literally just eyeball everything! :P I'm already thinking of pizza for tonight's dinner! haha

thank you guys for all the love!

Sai Borg
