ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups warm milk (110f)
  • 2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temperature)

for the filling:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 8 tbsp room temperature butter / 1 stick

direction:

  1. into a mixing bowl, add the warm milk and yeast. stir
  2. add the flour, sugar and salt and stir
  3. start kneading using the stand mixer until the dough starts to come together
  4. then add the butter and continue kneading until the dough is soft
  5. shape the dough into a ball and put in a large bowl
  6. cover and let the dough rest for 1.5 hours or until the dough doubled in size
  7. while the dough is rising, combine the filling ingredients into a bowl. ( powdered sugar, cocoa and butter then set aside
  8. once the dough is ready, deflate the dough 
  9. divide the dough into 12 pieces 
  10. take one piece of dough, flatten and add the chocolate mixture filling
  11. secure the dough and cut 4 times around the edge leaving the center intact 
  12. repeat the process to the remaining dough
  13. place the dough into a prepared baking pan. cover and let the dough rise for another 25 minutes
  14. pre heat the oven to 350F 
  15. once the bread is ready, brush the top with egg wash
  16. bake for 20 minutes 
  17. cool down the bread and then sprinkle with powdered sugar
  18. enjoy!

want to learn this 3 ingredient japanese sponge cheesecake? you are in the right page. this sponge cheesecake is super soft and taste like cotton candy but of course, it's a cheesecake! i know when my food is over the top delicious is when my husband would tell me it's delicious, not once, not twice, but 3 times! yup! i have the best critic! also, i replaced the white chocolate with candy melts, the result is the same. but, i highly recommend using white chocolates. i did this because i can't go out due to this virus that's going around. and with that, i hope everyone is staying safe!

so let's get into it. :)

 

japanese sponge cheesecake

ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 1 block cheesecake
  • 120 grams white chocolate (in my case i used candy melts)

directions:

  1. separate the egg whites and egg yolks. cover the egg whites with plastic wrap and let it sit in the fridge until it's ready to use (it's easy to make a meringue when the egg whites are cold)
  2. break the white chocolates into pieces and melt in the microwave, 30 seconds in between. once the white chocolates are fully melted, add the cream cheese and combine well. set aside
  3. in a large bowl, whip the egg whites using an electric mixer until the egg whites gets thick enough
  4. add the egg yolk into a cream cheese batter. mix well
  5. add half of the meringue into the cream cheese batter and combine well, then add the rest of the meringue and mix well
  6. rub some butter or oil on parchment paper and line the round cake pan with a parchment paper
  7. pour the batter into the pan
  8. place the cake pan into a baking sheet, and add water
  9. bake n 340F for 15 minutes
  10. after 15 minutes, lower the temperature to 320F and bake again for another 15 minutes
  11. after 15 minutes turn the oven off and then let the cake sit in the oven for another 15 minutes
  12. after 15 minutes, remove the cake from the oven and let the cake cool completely before slicing
  13. then serve!

japanese cheesecake using a rice cooker

hey riders!

how's everyone doing? this recipe that i'm going to share with you is one of my favorite food of all time. it's a japanese cheesecake! i've made this recipe a million times already, and not only the ingredients are so simple, it is also not difficult to make, and you read that right, we are using a rice cooker! :D so let's dive in!

ingredients:

  • 1 block cream cheese
  • 2 eggs (separate the egg whites and yolks)
  • 3/4 cups pancake mix
  • 3/4 cups whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • melted butter (for brushing)
  • powdered sugar

directions:

  1. combine pancake mix, cream cheese, and egg yolk, whisk using a hand mixer until fully combined.
  2. add heavy cream in two parts, whisking well in between.
  3. in a separate bowl, whisk egg whites until firm peaks form, then add granulated sugar in three parts, whisking well in between.cheesecake

     

  4. slowly fold egg whites into pancake mixture in three parts and stir until fully incorporated.
  5. grease rice cooker bowl with melted butter and add cheese cake mixture. Cook for 70 minutes.
  6. once cooked turn the cake onto a plate, sprinkle with powder sugar.
  7. DONE!

japanese milk bread

super soft and fluffy!!

 

hi riders,

in today's episode, i will be showing you on how to make these super soft, fluffy and delicious japanese milk bread. this recipe is definitely not new to anyone, you can find this recipe everywhere in the internet. i made it the other day and my friends totally loved it. so i thought, why not share it with all my riders out there?! so let's go ahead and check all the ingredients! :)

list of ingredients:

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoon instant dry yeast (1 packet)
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 4 tablespoon (1/4 stick butter)
  • 2/3 teaspoon salt

directions: (you can also watch the video for instructions - youtube video will be up soon)

  1. combine milk and instant dry yeast and set aside.
  2. mix the flour, sugar and the milk mixture until it forms like a dough.
  3. then, add the salt and keep kneading. you can use stand mixer if you need to, but i am just using my hand to create the dough.
  4. once it's all mixed, stretch the dough out and add the butter in the center of the dough. you want to make sure the butter is soft. this could get messy but it's okay, just keep kneading until the dough becomes soft and stretchy, the dough should not stick into your hand, if this happens add a little more flour.
  5. put the dough into a bowl and let it rise for an hour or so or until it doubled in size. (tip: grease the bowl so that the dough wont stick)
  6. once the dough is ready, cut into small sizes, i was able to make 12 pieces.
  7. roll the dough into a ball.
  8. then let it rise again for another 30 mins
  9. pre-heat the oven to 350F
  10. bake for 18 to 20 minutes.
  11. and it DONE!

spam musubi recipe | cook with sai borg

hey riders,

as of now, you are probably familiar with spam musubi. it is a rice and spam wrapped in nori. i never had it until 3 to 4 years ago when one of my friend came to visit and brought us a musubi, it was surprisingly super delicious and so simple to make. so today, i decided to make it and film it for your reference. i think when it comes to cooking, i like to explore a bit more.. that being said, i will show how i made my own recipe of this dish. now, i am not sure if i am the only one who ever made this version of musubi, i haven't been researching about it, so keep on watching! below are what you need to make this amazing dish.

ingredients:

  • 1 can spam (i'm using the tocino flavor, but use any flavor you like)
  • 2 cups of cooked rice
  • 1 cup of sliced lengthwise carrots
  • nori

you will also need:

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (sweetened rice wine)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cooking oil or cooking spray
